Independent cyber security advice, with no managed services to sell
Most firms offering cyber security locally are IT support companies or managed service providers, advising on the services they sell. CyberCQR is different: an independent consultancy in Preston, Lancashire, with one named, experienced adviser, no vendor commissions and no managed services to sell.
Why independence matters
An adviser, not a supplier
An IT support company or managed service provider can do excellent work, but it is not well placed to judge its own service, or to tell you that you need less of it. That is the gap we fill.
Advice not shaped by a sale
We sell no products, licences or managed services, and take no commissions. A recommendation is made because your firm needs it, and often the answer is to make better use of what you already own.
A second pair of eyes on your IT provider
Your provider runs your systems; we check that the security they deliver matches what your board, insurers and regulators expect. We work alongside them, not instead of them.
Senior experience from both sides
Over 30 years in cyber security, inside organisations of every size and on the managed service provider side. We know how a provider works, and what to ask of one.
Your decisions, on the record
Your board keeps the decisions and the accountability. We give independent advice and record what was decided and why, so you can show auditors and regulators.
Who you will be working with
Neil Brady, founder and director
CyberCQR is led by Neil Brady, a cyber security practitioner with more than 30 years’ experience and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Neil’s background spans financial services, defence, the public sector and internet service providers. It covers leading security functions, delivering large-scale technology change, including enterprise identity and Microsoft 365 programmes, and serving on boards and advisory panels.
Neil has worked inside organisations of every size and on the managed service provider side, so he knows how security looks from both ends of the contract. When you work with CyberCQR, he is the person you work with throughout. The practice is advisory only. We do not resell products, take vendor commissions or run managed services, so the advice is not shaped by anything we sell.

We spend our working lives telling clients to collect less, keep less and know exactly where their data goes. This website follows the same rules.
No cookies, no trackers
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. There is no analytics, no advertising tag and no social media pixel, so there is no cookie banner to click through.
Nothing loaded from other companies
Fonts, scripts and styles are served from our own hosting. Opening a page here does not tell Google, Meta, LinkedIn or anyone else that you visited.
Only what you choose to give us
If you download a paper, we ask for your name, company and work email, and nothing more. Your IP address is never stored as it is: a scrambled version is used to stop abuse and deleted within 24 hours.
Check it yourself
Open your browser’s developer tools on any page. You will find no cookies under Storage, and every request in the Network tab goes to this site alone.
Like every website, ours runs on a hosting provider that keeps standard server logs for security. The cookie notice and privacy notice set out exactly what is kept.
